Exodus 25

8

And they are to make a sanctuary for Me, so that I may dwell among them.

9

You must make the tabernacle and design all its furnishings according to the pattern I show you.

Exodus 29

45

Then I will dwell among the Israelites and be their God.

46

And they will know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them out of the land of Egypt so that I might dwell among them.

I am the LORD their God.

  • There were two silver bases under each tenons of a frame.
  • The north and south side had twenty frames and forty silver bases.

  • The crossbars were made of acacia wood and overlaid with gold.
  • There were five crossbars on each side—north, south and west.
  • The central crossbar on each side extended from one end to the other.

Total length of ten curtains in cubits

10 x 4 = 40

  • The tabernacle was constructed using ten curtains.
  • Each curtain was twenty-eight  cubits long and four cubits wide
  • It was made of finely spun linen, blue, purple and scarlet yarn, and cherubim were skillfully worked into it.
  • The ten curtains were made of two sets of five curtains that were joined together; so the total length of ten curtains was forty cubits.
  • The two sets of five curtains were joined by loops made of blue material and gold clasps.

  • Eleven curtains made of goat hair were used for the tent over the tabernacle.
  • Each curtain was thirty cubits long and four cubits wide.

As for the overlap that remains of the tent curtains, the half curtain that is left over shall hang down over the back of the tabernacle.

13

And the tent curtains will be a cubit longer on either side

14

Also make a covering for the tent out of ram skins dyed red, and over that a covering of fine leather.
