Yahweh and His Messiah—The Anointed One

Who is God?
God is the creator of heaven and earth, and everything in it; this makes Him the most powerful being in existence. His existence is eternal by nature, He rules His creation with righteousness, and His Sovereignty is established from the beginning.

Deuteronomy 10:14
Behold, to the LORD your God belong the heavens, even the highest heavens, and the earth and everything in it.

Who is a Messiah?
Why does the world need the Messiah?

Yahweh has given free will to all beings in heaven and on earth.
Evil came into existence when a heavenly being of his own free will rebelled against Him and became His adversary.
The adversary, Satan, with his army of fallen angels is leading a rebellion against the LORD of Hosts under the false impression that he can overpower God and establish his dominion.

Evil existed even before the world was created.

Then why didn't God create the world after destroying Satan and his army of fallen angels?
If Satan of his own free will could rebel against God, so could mankind.

God created Adam and Eve to rule over His creation on earth and increase in number.
He gave them the first commandment: Do not eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for they will certainly die.

The serpent deceived them into believing that eating the forbidden fruit would make them wise like God. On the contrary, eating the fruit made them subject to evil without God's Wisdom, and death came into existence.

Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit because they had free will.
They broke the only commandment God gave them and by disobeying, sin entered the world and Satan proved his ability to lead the world astray.

Sin has consequences. God banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, but He did not abandon them when they turned to Him for refuge.

The Scriptures manifest how God rules His creation with righteousness and those who revere Him, keep His commandments and acknowledge His Sovereignty shall never be forsaken, but enjoy the fruits of His creation.
God will establish His kingdom on earth when He saves His creation by destroying Satan and his army of fallen angels.

The One who can save the world by destroying the works of the evil one, show and lead the way to the LORD, display the power of God through the works entrusted to Him by the LORD, conquer death, and establish the kingdom of God on earth is the Messiah—The Anointed One.

Yahweh has made known through the prophets how the Messiah will enter the world, accomplish the work entrusted to Him and then establish the kingdom of God on earth.

Isaiah 44
24
"I am the LORD, who has made all things, who alone stretched out the heavens, who by Myself spread out the earth,
26
who confirms the message of His servant and fulfills the counsel of His messengers"

It will become evident from the verses about the Messiah in Scriptures:
  • Like Yahweh, His origin is from the days of eternity.
  • A virgin will be with child and give birth to a son.
  • He will be called Immanuel—God with us.
  • Messiah is prophetically called David because He will be born in the house of David. It is figurative and not literal.
  • He will reign on the throne of David and over his kingdom.
The following verses from the Scriptures are arranged in the chronological order to reveal:
  • Where the Messiah - The Anointed One will come from.
  • How He will accomplish the will of the LORD.
  • How He will fulfill the promises of Yahweh made known through the prophets.
Micah 5:2
But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come forth for Me One to be ruler over Israel, whose origins are of old, from the days of eternity.

Psalm 8:5 You made him a little lower than the angels

Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and His name will be called Immanuel.

Why should a virgin be with child?
The Messiah existed even before the creation of the world. He is the Holy One of God.
Therefore, He is not human by nature but a heavenly being.
The Messiah doesn't need an earthly father, for an earthly man and woman would reproduce a new life form that would be earthly in nature and will not be able to destroy the evil one, because of the hierarchy that Yahweh has established from the beginning.

Scriptures have revealed that angels of God have been given the power to destroy places and strike down people who dwell in them.

Yahweh made the Messiah a little lower than the angels but gave him the ability to display the power of God to accomplish His will.

It shall be evident on further study of Scriptures that the Messiah, whose origins are from the days of eternity, is the Man who wrestled with Jacob, but could not overpower him; so He wrenched his hip with a touch. He is the God who said that his name will be Israel because he prevailed in his struggles, and He blessed him. He is the God that Jacob saw face to face, and yet his life was spared, for no one can see the face of Yahweh and live. He is the prophet made known through Moses that Yahweh would raise up from among the Israelites because they trembled with fear and thought they would die when they saw Yahweh descend on Mount Sinai with fire and heard His voice.

God who wrestled with Jacob looked like a man because Yahweh made Adam in His own image, which implies Yahweh and the Lord look like human beings, but they are not earthly; they are heavenly beings.

Genesis 1:27
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

In Scriptures, the Messiah—the Lord whose origins are of old and from the days of eternity—is called son of man because of the human nature He will take by being born of a virgin to save the world and conquer death by being raised to life.

According to Scriptures, to save the world and conquer death, the Messiah will take a human nature and live like a human being made of flesh; He will be subjected to the trials, weakness, pain and suffering of a human being; and yet He will be able to display the power of God to accomplish the work entrusted to Him by Yahweh. Then He will be exalted and glorified by Yahweh to fulfill the promises that was made known through the prophets.
