Early the next morning, Jacob took the stone that he had placed under his head, and he set it up as a pillar. He poured oil on top of it,

and he called that place Bethel
Bethel means house of God
Jacob made a vow—The stone pillar shall be the house of God, and of all that Yahweh gives him, he will give Him a tenth

The Man blessed Jacob and said that his name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, for he struggled with God—the Man who wrestled him—and with humans, and he prevailed

Then the man said, "Your name will no longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with humans and have overcome."

Jacob said, "Please tell me your name." But he replied, "Why do you ask my name?" Then he blessed him there.
Jacob called the place Peniel, for he saw God face to face, and yet his life was spared
